I am on cloud nine to welcome you to M.N.G.P.C.  I hope to convey that both the pedagogic passion ingrained faculty and enthusiasm entwined students bring to you that they do here making this college a wonderful place to learn.
M.N.G.P.C. is a pioneer technical institute imparting diploma level education in the U.T. of Puducherry.   The first Prime Minister of India was instrumental to ushering in of this institute through a special enactment in parliament with Civil Engineering branch of study to begin with.   Now this institute boasts of offering 8 branches of engineering including commerce.  It has rich tradition of soaring high with academic excellence and overall personal growth of the students to cater to technical needs of industry and society ever since its inception.  It is committed to perpetually pushing up the frontiers of learning boundary pedalling with technological advancements from time to time.
Other than focusing on academic knowledge to the students, M.N.G.P.C. also inculcates in them the life skills to help shape up their personality.  This college employs physical, mental, social, emotional and intellectual development for the appraisal of the students.  To fine-tune the necessary attitude, aptitude and communicative skills to achieve placements in corporate sector, this college is supportive of the students by the way of conduct of mock interview entailing group interaction exercises with a dedicated training and placement officer. The Training and Placement Cell always remains a crucial interface between the academic career of the students and their entry into passionate employment. This college keeps predominantly itself updated and upgraded in terms of innovative teaching and technology.  The interaction with industries provides innovative opportunity and quality program to students that promote entrepreneurial skills and responds to the changing market need and developments in technology.


Profile of the Principal
            Dr..K.NAGAKARTHIGAN, Principal of Motilal Nehru Government Polytechnic College, is an eminent and devoted scholar in the field of Civil Engineering.  He hailed from a humble family background and did his primary, secondary and higher secondary schoolings in Government schools.  So an outstanding student of Jeevanandam Government Higher Secondary School, Puduchrry that came out with flying colours to secure a seat in Pondicherry Engineering College, the solo engineering college existing then in the U.T. of Puducherry to pursue his study in Civil Engineering.  He started his career in the construction field for a few months.  Many opportunities knocked his door to set out his career-journey in pursuit of fortune as a Civil Engineer.  But his passion for teaching drove him to join as a Lecturer in M.N.G.P.C. in 1994.  He did M.E (Environment Engineering) in 1996 and then enrolled himself as a research scholar and successfully completed his doctorate.  He is proud of all his engineering studies done in Pondicherry Engineering College itself.  He had been Head of Civil Engineering Department in-charge for more than two decades before becoming Principal of M.N.G.P.C.  He has published many articles on research study.  He has participated in various symposiums.  He is a life member of MISTE.  He is the President of Indian Plumbing Association for Puducherry Chapter.
